Family & Couples

Connection,
held still.

A portrait session for the people in your life as they actually are — not as a stiff Christmas card. Warm, unhurried, and built around how your family already moves.

Warm, unhurried, and built around how your people actually are.

Toddlers wander. Teenagers scowl. Couples don't always want to look at each other on cue. We work with all of it. The point isn't to perform a family portrait — it's to make one.

What this session is for

The why behind the booking.

Three concrete outcomes. If one of these is the reason you’re here, this is the right room.

01

Portraits that feel like your family, not a stock photo.

The version of you the people who love you would recognise. Quirks intact.

02

Kids relaxed enough to be themselves.

We don't bribe smiles. We let kids be kids and shoot what's actually happening.

03

Print-worthy frames for the wall.

Resolution and tonality that hold up at large print sizes — not just thumbnails on a phone.

The process

What the day looks like.

Four small moves so the day feels easy, even with small humans involved.

  1. 01

    Quick chat

Who's in the family, what the photos are for, anything we should know.

  2. 02

    Pick studio or location

Studio is calm and controlled. On-location is good for big groups.

  3. 03

    Session day

75 minutes, paced for the youngest person in the room.

  4. 04

    Gallery in 7 days

Online gallery to choose favourites. Prints available.

Family session — starting at

from $375

Family (1–4 people) · 60 minutes · 6 retouched files. Extended Family (5–8): $525 / 90 min / 10 files. Generational (9–15): $850 / 120 min / 15 files.

Studio is the default for fall and winter sessions. On-location runs spring and summer at parks and homes around West Island. Pets welcome — they often steal the show.

Includes a private viewing gallery. Print products (album, framed wall art) priced separately so you choose only what you want on the wall.

Common questions

Asked & answered.

What if my toddler will not sit still?

Then your toddler will not sit still, and we will work with that. Some of the best portraits come from the moments between the posed shots. The session length is set up for that.

Can we shoot at our home instead?

Yes. On-location sessions in your home (or a park you love) are part of the family offering. Best in the warmer months — winter sessions usually default to the studio.

Do you do extended-family group shots?

Yes. Tell us how many people on the call so we can plan the lens, the lighting, and the order. Largest we’ve done so far is sixteen, including grandparents and a dog.

How do you handle pets?

We love them. Bring treats, bring a leash for transitions, and let us know in advance if anyone in the family has allergies. The studio is pet-friendly.

Next step

Tell us about your session.

One short form. Ian replies, usually the same day, with available dates. If you'd like a quick call to plan the day around how your family actually moves, that's offered — not required.
